Third Zator Science Week
As part of the III Zator Researchers’ Week, a study visit and curatorial tour of the Skotniki Fort and the permanent exhibition “Exiled to Siberia…” took place, attended by residents of Zator and the surrounding area and listeners of the Zator University of the Third Age.

At that time, the Centre’s staff also supported the ‘Zator Opowiedziany’ project, during which, together with students from the Institute of History and Archival Studies at the University of the National Education Commission, they made recordings of interviews with residents of the town and commune of Zator.

In the following days, at the Regional Cultural Centre in Zator, the Director of the Centre, Dr Hubert Chudzio, Professor UKEN, presented a lecture entitled ‘Hiking trails as an element of modern historical education’, during which he talked about the difficulties of substantive development and field work in delineating trails on the example of ‘The trail of Witold Pilecki’s escape from Auschwitz’. The next lecture, entitled ‘The Trail of the Memory of Zator Jews – material and spiritual heritage’, was given by Natalia Kaszuba, M.A., who presented the implementation work on the Trail of the Memory of Zator Jews and the research discoveries that have been made in this direction.
