An event dedicated to Kraków Fortress Days

Preparations for Kraków Fortress Days are underway!
Over the past few days, meetings have been held to organise this year’s Kraków Fortress Days. These were attended by representatives of municipal institutions, experts and the custodians of the fortress sites. Our Centre was represented by Wiktoria Zarębczan, MA.
As every year, the UKEN Centre for the Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Resettlements will take part in this unique event. Our programme includes, amongst other things, a curator-led tour of the permanent exhibition.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Skotniki Fort – a unique monument of the Kraków Fortress, which serves as the headquarters of our Centre. The armoured fort, now known as the ‘armoured guardian of memory’, is a place where the history of fortifications intertwines with the memory of the fate of Poles scattered across the globe.
We warmly invite you to visit Fort Skotniki during the Kraków Fortress Days. More details of the programme coming soon!
