Ceremonies marking the National Day of Remembrance for Poles—Victims of the Genocide Perpetrated by the OUN and UPA in the Eastern Territories of the Second Polish Republic

On July 11, 2026, ceremonies were held at the Rakowicki Cemetery in Kraków to mark the National Day of Remembrance for Poles—Victims of the Genocide Perpetrated by the OUN and UPA in the Eastern Territories of the Second Polish Republic.
The event was organized by the Kraków Branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN) and the Governor of the Małopolska Voivodeship. The ceremonies were preceded by a Holy Mass in the Chapel of the Resurrection, celebrated by Father Jerzy Pająk, chaplain to the independence movement.
Dr. Alicja Śmigielska represented the UKEN Center for the Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions, and Resettlements.
