Award “Witness to History” of the Institute of National Remembrance
“In recognition of special merits in commemorating the history of the Polish Nation”, the Centre for Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Resettlements of the UKEN in Krakow received the “Witness to History” Award of the Institute of National Remembrance.
This year, the Award Chapter honoured two institutional winners. In addition to the unit of the University of the Commission for National Education in Krakow, also the Sybiraków Association – Krakow Branch. The “Witness to History” award is given by the IPN to individuals and institutions of particular merit for the commemoration of Polish history, including activities of an educational nature. Every year in the Małopolska and Świętokrzyskie Voivodeships a minimum of several dozen candidates are put forward, hence this award is particularly prestigious. The IPN authorities presented the award to representatives of the CDZWiP UKEN at a gala ceremony at the Kielce Philharmonic Hall.
