The film entitled “In the Footsteps of Polish Siberians. Masindi 2022”

On 10 February 2024, the 84th anniversary of the first mass deportation of Polish citizens deep into the USSR, the film ‘In the Footsteps of Polish Sybiraks. Masindi 2022’, produced by the Centre’s team. It shows the work of the expedition of the University of the National Education Commission in Krakow under the direction of Professor Hubert Chudzio in Uganda – in a Polish church and a Polish cemetery. The renovation and conservation work at the necropolis was co-financed by funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland from the Cultural Promotion Fund. The expedition was held under the patronage of: Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Kenya Jacek Bazanski and Ugandan Bishop of Hoima Vincent Kirabo.
