The film “The Murderous Wandering of Matty Cash’s Grandfather”
We would like to invite you to watch the film THE MURDERER’S TROUBLE OF MATTY CASH!
The project by Mateusz Święcicki was supported by the Centre for Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Resettlements UKEN. The film was shot at Fort Skotniki, where materials from the Centre’s archives were documented, including a census of Polish refugees residing in East Africa and Rhodesia, prepared by the Polish Red Cross in Nairobi in 1943, which confirmed the arrival of Ryszard Tomaszewski at the Tenger settlement. The history of the Siberian Africans, as well as Matty Cash’s grandfather, was narrated by the Centre’s director, Professor Hubert Chudzio. Also taking part in the film were Sybiraks who have been associated with the Centre for many years – Ms Krystyna Serafin-Pryjomko and Ms Danuta Sedlak.
