Ceremony at the Sybiraks’ Association in Katowice to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the second mass deportation
On 12 April 2024, the Centre participated in a ceremony at the Sybiraks’ Association in Katowice commemorating the 84th anniversary of the second mass deportation of Polish citizens deep into the USSR. During the meeting, we had the pleasure of presenting the activities of the UKEN Centre for the Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Displacements in Krakow and discussing the realisation of interviews with the Katowice Siberian Association as part of the NPRH project entitled. ,,Diaspora of Polish Sybiraks in the world – a record of source accounts/notations and home archives of Sybiraks in the country – archival team’.
