“Trail of the escape of the rotamaster Witold Pilecki from Auschwitz”.

Spring ? Sunshine ? Weekend ?
It’s a good time to set out on the trail !
We recommend the “Trail of the escape of the rotamaster Witold Pilecki from Auschwitz”.
It can be traversed on foot or by bicycle. Any way is good to set off in the footsteps of the Hero and learn more about the history of rtm. Pilecki and his escape from Auschwitz.
The UKEN Center for the Documentation of Displaced Persons, Expulsions and Resettlement is a co-creator of this project. Among other things, the Center’s staff designed the plaques visible on the trail – from Oświęcim to Nowy Wiśnicz .
The trail was created with the support of UKEN history and archives students, UKEN geography students, the offices of the cities and municipalities through which it runs, the Marshal’s Office of the Malopolska Region, the Malopolska Tourist Organization, the Niepołomice Forestry Commission, the Bochniaks and Lovers of the Bochnia Land Association, the Nearby Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorials Foundation and others .
