Today is National Animal Rights Day.
Do you remember the story of an exceptional soldier of the Second Polish Corps – Wojtek the bear?
We remind you of it with an excerpt from an interview with Professor Wojciech Narębski. Mr Professor recalled: ‘He was given to the Transport Company. I, as Wojtek, also came [there]. I reported to the commander. ‘Oh, then we have another Wojtek. You’ll be ‘Little Wojtek’, because he’ll be bigger than you when he grows up, and he’ll be ‘Big Wojtek’’. And that’s how the fates of the two Wojteks merged, and for two years I was together with him’.
