New priceless archival materials at the Center!
Our archive collection has just been expanded with materials donated by Ms. Małgorzata Minor. This is a huge legacy of the Kaczanowski family, who were deported to the Kazakh SSR in April 1940. Of the five people deported, only Zofia Kaczanowska survived the exile.
The materials donated to the archive concern not only the family’s life in Kazakhstan (including extensive correspondence), but also the pre-war years, which is extremely interesting, if only because Władysław Kaczanowski was the administrator of the Potocki estate in Stare Sioło.
We would like to thank Małgorzata Minor, the great-granddaughter of Władysław Kaczanowski, and her husband Józef, who put a lot of effort into collecting and preliminarily processing the family materials, for their trust and assure them that they have found a good home.
