EASTER

Easter in the Polish neighborhood of Kondoa 🌿

“The church was right next to the housing estate, in a nice location. A path lined with palm trees led from the church toward the camp [housing estate]. I remember that on Corpus Christi, we would go out and scatter flowers… And we celebrated… Easter, with the blessing of food—it was pretty much the same as in any Polish home.”

— an excerpt from an interview with Anna Gęgotek conducted in Kraków in 2012 by Anna Hejczyk and Agata Balawajder.

🐣May this Easter be a time of rebirth, hope, and peace.

May it bring strength—the same strength that allowed the Siberian deportees to survive and preserve Polish traditions even far from home.

Happy Easter! 🕊️
