.

On the occasion of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, the General Władysław Anders Museum – Road to Freedom was honoured with the Ring of the Centenary of Polish Independence. In previous years, institutions such as the National Museum in Warsaw, the Museum of the Polish Army and the Jasna Góra Sanctuary were honoured with the Ring. During the ceremony, which took place on 25 August 2020, the Ring was received from the hands of the organisers by Professor Hubert Chudzio, director of the UP Centre for Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and ResettlementsThe basis for the creation of the Museum was the rich collections gathered at the CDZWiP. For 10 years, the CDZWiP has been documenting the forced migrations of Poles, mainly the fate of Polish deportees to the Soviet Union and their subsequent fate. Substantive support for the Museum is provided by the staff of the CDZWiP. The activities of the Museum are also supported by the Institutes of the Faculty of Humanities at UP. We are happy that the idea of the General Władysław Anders – Road to Freedom Museum is gaining more and more supporters in Poland and around the world. The donation of the Polish Independence Centenary Ring to the Museum is an expression of support and an emphasis that the history of Polish Siberians, refugees from the Soviet Union, including the Polish Army, is particularly worthy of commemoration.
