Together for Repatriation. Helping Compatriots remaining in the East to return to their homeland an important historical and social obligation of the government administration and local governments of the Silesian Voivodeship
On 19 April 2016, the Silesian Voivodeship Office in Katowice hosted a conference entitled. “Together for Repatriation. Helping Compatriots remaining in the East to return to their homeland is an important historical and social obligation of the government administration and local governments of the Silesian Voivodeship”. Among the speakers were: Jarosław Wieczorek, Governor of Silesia, Hubert Chudzio, PhD, Director of the Centre for Documentation of Deportations, Expulsions and Resettlements, representatives of the Department of Citizenship and Repatriation at the Ministry of the Interior and Administration, representatives of the municipalities of Żory, Gliwice, Bytom and repatriates living in these municipalities. During the conference, a multimedia exhibition on the fate of Polish Siberians, prepared by the Centre and Office staff, was presented.
